Benefits of Yogiyou
1.Increases flexibility
Preschool children are naturally very flexible, but by the end of the primary school age this has greatly diminished. Osteopaths agree that poor posture could affect the concentration abilities in children and young people.
2.Leads to better health
Dru Yoga helps children and young people to breathe more deeply and evenly, which helps controlasthma and related breathing problems. It also reduces stress and related ailments in those who practiceit regularly.
3.Improves concentration and calmness
A single yoga class can lead to children being calmer in subsequent lessons. Many schools nowencourage children to do yoga before exams as it helps them to focus and become calmer.
4.Improves co-ordination and balance
Many of the postures aid the development of balance and poise.
5.Releases tension and tightness from muscles and joints
Dru Yoga is a great addition to other sports exercise programmes as it systematically stretches every muscle group in the body and increases flexibility of the joints.
6.Increases ability to identify body parts and their location
Dru Yoga can serve as an aid to basic anatomy and physiology education, while understanding how the body works as a whole.
Yogiyou instructors are Dru Yoga teachers who have attended a Yogiyou postgraduate module to train them to teach yoga to children and young people and have been awarded a certificate of attendance.
